Korean
monitoring role
A
WARRANT officer had been appointed to be the first Australian
in the international team monitoring the border crossings between
North and South Korea.
Defence Minister Robert Hill announced that the warrant officer
will be attached to the UN Command Military Armistice Commission
and will work within the De-Militarised Zone.
He will help monitor the movement of stores, equipment and supplies
through Transport Corridor West, which is the western link to
the major new industrial zone Kaeyson that is currently under
construction just north of the border.
