2/14LHR (QMI) mission focused

2/14LHR (QMI) has reshaped itself into an ARA unit in line with the Hardened and Networked Army program.

After many years as a reserve unit, 2/14LHR (QMI) is now capable of deploying two ARA squadrons along with a Battle Group HQ with a third squadron in the process of being raised.

Along with this come increases to manning and a new vehicle fleet in order to allow the unit to maintain its current capability.

2/14LHR (QMI) has also sustained ongoing deployments to Op Catalyst, providing cavalry support to Sedcet in Baghdad.

The unit has undergone many changes in recent years with the introduction of the ASLAV along with upgrades to many of its facilities.

2/14LHR (QMI) 2IC Maj McCrohan said that the unit carried the heritage and traditions of the Australian Light Horse and its forebears.

“As members of RAAC we are mission focused, have a bias for action, are disciplined and always adaptable,” he said.
