THE ARMY Alpine Snowsports Association is seeking nominations for an ADF team to compete in the British Combined Services International Snowsports Championships to be held in Switzerland in Jan/Feb 2006.

The five week tour includes competing in the RAF championships in Austria and some professional race coaching before competing against various European military teams, including the UK, Swiss and Italian teams. The tour will give ADF competitors a very rare opportunity to compete in the ultimate ski-racing event, the Downhill race (which cannot be conducted in Australia), as well as Slalom, Giant Slalom and SuperG events.

This is a tri-annual event and open to male and female competitors. Dates for the event are Jan 4 to Feb 14, and the total cost is expected to be approximately $6500.

Experienced male and female skiers and snowboarders wishing to compete should contact Maj Murray Nelson at murray.nelson@defence.gov.au or (07) 3332 6020 for more details.
