6RAR will celebrate its 40th birthday on June 5. 6RAR Association
will be holding Company functions on June 3 and will host a dinner
at the Greek Club in South Brisbane on June 4. On June 5 there
will be a birthday parade and lunch. If you want to attend the

Pensions and advocacy service
Queensland RSL State HQ Pensions and Advocacy Service located

offers a free service in the preparation of disability compensation
claims through Dept of Veterans’ Affairs for serving and ex-serving
personnel, Veterans and their dependants. For assistance please

Mackay cadets celebrate
Army Cadets in Mackay celebrate their 60th anniversary in November.
The 122nd Army Cadet Unit is looking for expressions of interest
from ex-cadets from Mackay State High School, Mackay North State
High School, Mirani State High School or St Patrick’s College

Significant medals
Lt-Col Glyn Llanwarne, Chief of Staff ARTC, is hoping to once
again enlist the assistance of readers of Army to help with some
medals he’s trying to return. These medals are of some significance
as the solider was killed when the AHS Centaur was sunk by a Japanese
submarine off Morton Island during WWII. The soldier in question
was NX37768 Raymond Henry George Westendorf and he was a member
of 2/12th Field Ambulance. Lt-Col Llanwarne has WWI, WWII and

RAANCA annual awards
The RAANC Association Award is an annual award, which recognises
contributions to nursing through involvement in the clinical,
administrative or training environments. Responses are required
no later than June 30. Nominations are sought from full time/part
time sources for the 2005 award. All nominations are to be submitted
through the unit chain of command on the specific nomination form.

RAEME Res/CMF reunion
The Annual RAEME Res/CMF Reunion will be held at Bulimba Barracks
Quarry Club on August 21. All serving and ex members of RAEME
and associated Corps, both Regular Army and Army Res/CMF, who
served in Res/CMF Units are welcome. Ex Cadre staff particularly
invited. The function is a family sausage sizzle in the barbeque

Delta 4 RAR reunion
Delta 4 RAR is holding a reunion 33 years after the last combat
Infantry Coy withdrew from South Vietnam. They are planning the
greatest reunion ever to include all those who served in Delta
4 and the second tour. The reunion is to be held at Tweed Heads

King-Hall history conference
The fourth King-Hall Naval History Conference – Sea Power Ashore
and in the Air – will be held at the National Convention Centre
Canberra on July 21 and 22. The cost for the two-day Conference
including lunch, morning and afternoon tea is $200 per person.
A conference dinner will be held in the Australian War Memorial

Fourth nursing conference
DDFN will be hosting the fourth annual Nursing Officer Conference
in Canberra on November 8-11. Registration is $110 and dinner
is $70. DDFN is calling for abstracts pertinent to the theme of
resolve, competence, confidence and ethics. Presentations should
be no longer than 20 minutes with 10 minutes for questions. Full

Language study tours
Applications are being sought for Language Study Tours from ADF
recognised linguists to be conducted in the financial year 05-06.
The tours are for a total of 23 days comprising tutorial and regional
travel phases. Eligibility criteria and categories can be obtained
