Roving reporter search

POSITIONS are vacant at one of the most exclusive postings in Australia.

Army newspaper is looking for self-driven and confident soldiers who are team players, with exceptional dress and bearing, to fill corporal reporter positions in Canberra.

Army newspaper is a small section of both Army members and civilians. We are collocated with Air Force and Navy newspapers.

Canberra is the only posting locality.

Our reporters travel frequently within Australia and overseas and work well beyond office hours. The position is not as a military photographer, but the successful candidates will be expected to take photographs to support their stories.

Applicants should also feel comfortably able to interview any rank in the ADF and APS.

Those interested will be assessed during a two-week Unit Correspondent Course, with the possibility of a further two weeks’ OJT. If found suitable, they will be encouraged to submit a corps transfer to ECN 342 – reporter.

Successfull applicants will receive further training during their employment. Writing skills are vitally important, previous professional writing is not.

Interested soldiers should contact Cpl Damian Shovell on (02) 6266 7608 or damian.shovell@defencenews.gov.au.
