New CDF appointed

CHIEF of Air Force Air Marshal Angus Houston will take over from Gen Peter Cosgrove as CDF.

Air-Mshl Houston will take up the position on July 4 this year, for a three year term. He will be promoted to Air Chief Marshal for the top job.

Prime Minister John Howard said he was confident Air-Mshl Houston would continue to build on the work of Gen Cosgrove in shaping the expertise and capabilities of the ADF.
