THE ASM with East Timor clasp has been awarded to personnel who
have deployed to East Timor since August 2003. Governor-General
Maj-Gen Michael Jeffery recently approved the award to ADF personnel
who deployed on Op Citadel from August 18, 2003, and on Op Spire
from May 20, 2004.
Those eligible to receive the award are:
ADF members posted to or formally attached to the Australian
element of the prescribed operation for a period of 30 days,
continuous or aggregate;
ADF
members who render service of 30 days, continuous or aggregate,
as part of a foreign defence force element of the prescribed
operation while on secondment or exchange with the foreign defence
force and while the member was on approved Australian third
country deployment; or
ADF members who render service and complete 30 operational sorties
within the duration of the prescribed operation, where those
sorties are conducted over a period of not less than anaggregate
of 30 days at a rate of one sortie a day.
About 800 medals have already been despatched using personnel
details listed on PMKeyS.
