ENGINEERS from 19CE Works have received honours around the country for their engineering excellence.

Capt Michelle Wynn, Capt Alex Hickton and Lt Vanessa O’Connell have been recognised for their dedication and effort to both ADF and to the Australian public.

Capt Wynn was awarded the Young Engineer of the Year Sydney division for the professionalism she had shown during all the engineering projects she has tackled since being deployed to Interfet and various AACAP projects since 1999.

Capt Hickton and his team were also highly commended for their contribution to the indigenous community by the Australian Institute Queensland Division in its Environmental Health Awards.

Lt O’Connell was awarded Young Surveyor of the Year by the Association of Consulting Surveyors NSW for her level dedication to her career as a reserve officer and in her full-time employment with the Sydney Ports Corporation, and also for her efforts in promoting career opportunities within the ADF and civilian employment in the field of hydrographic surveying.

CO 19CE Works Lt-Col Michael Kavanagh said the three awards reflected well on the individuals, the unit and the work of Army.
