Good book better

By Leesha Furse

A NEW tri-Service Bible is being printed for distribution this year.

Principal Chaplain Simon Hubbard, RANR, who is involved in its development, said the publication would include several pages of photographs of ADF members at work, Bible-reading aids and prayers.

“It is hoped that this Bible will prove attractive and will serve as an encouragement to all Christians within the ADF, especially those who are deployed,” Chap Hubbard said.

“For many years, the Bible Society has made Bibles and scripture portions available to Defence members at no cost, through a fund established for that purpose. This has included the production of New Testaments speci.cally printed for Navy, Army and Air Force personnel.

“Recognising that the three Services increasingly operate together, the latest project is a Bible suitable for all Defence members, bearing the ADF crest and bound with a camou.age cover.”

The Bible will be the easy-to-read Contemporary English Version.

Chap Hubbard said the Bible should become available early in the new year.

ADF members interested in obtaining a copy should inquire through their unit chaplains.
