THE ADF Tenpin Bowling Association (ADFTBA) nine-member team has
performed well at the recent Australian Tenpin Bowling Championships.
This had been the first time current members of the ADF team have
competed in the competition as a team. Three members competed
at Classic level, which is bowlers with an average of 185-199
and six members competed at A-grade level, which is bowlers with
an average of 170-184.
Each bowler competes in singles, doubles and five man teams, with
scores going towards the overall event.
LAC Dave Hogan performed the best out of the ADF competitors in
the classic singles, finishing 61st out of 105 entries. LAC Kieran
Wyllie was the best in the A-grade singles finishing 17th out
of 86 entries.
In the classic doubles Smn Brendan Parr and LS Mark Tapper finished
26th out of 45 entries and the A-grade doubles of WO2 Steve Ritchie
and Sgt Ian Forsyth finished 11th out of 46 entries. In the classic
teams event LS Mark Tapper, Sgt Mark Seagrave, CPO Mike Batey,
LAC Dave Hogan and Smn Brendan Parr finished sixth out of 11 entries.
Six defence members out of 20 competitors qualified for the Classic
Cup. The Classic Cup winner is decided by each bowler initially
bowling six games, the top eight bowlers then play a further seven
games to decide the winner on total pinfall and bonus points.
LAC Dave Hogan finished fourth (209 average), Smn Brendan Parr
seventh (197 average), WO2 Steve Ritchie 11th (193 average), CPO
Mike Batey 14th (186 average), Sgt Ian Forsyth 18th (180 average)
and Sgt Mark Seagrave 19th (168 average).
