The National Welfare Co-ordination Centre (NWCC) has celebrated five years of supporting the families of deployed personnel.

The centre was formed in 1999 to provide support to the families of personnel deployed to East Timor.

2IC NWCC Flt-Lt Robert Jackson said that the number of ADF personnel deployed on operations has continued to expand in recent times.

“While our core business is the coordination of family support to the families of Defence personnel on operations and exercises commanded by HQ JOC, we also provide support to the families of personnel who are away from their normal command and domestic support systems, such as ships at sea, defence cooperation programs and overseas exercises,” he said.

The NWCC’s 24-hour call centre is permanently manned by experienced personnel from all three services, Call them on freecall 1800 801 026.
