LOOKING for excitement, adventure, and the best fun you can have sitting down? Get involved with the Army White Water Association (AWWA).

AWWA is the enabling medium for all forms of paddling pursuits in the Army; it covers white water kayaking, white water rafting, sea kayaking, canoe polo, and marathon flat-water kayaking (MFK) activities.

We can assist with the planning and conduct of unit adventurous training (AT) activities, and develop newly graduated unit adventurous training leaders (UATL) in paddling disciplines.

Although overseas AT is still yet to be reinstated, we have an exciting range of domestic adventures on the boil, including sea kayaking down the east coast of Tasmania, white water rafting down the world-famous Franklin River in south-west Tasmania (both in early January next year), and white water rafting and kayaking on the mighty Mitta Mitta River coming up in October, check the sports noticeboard in this edition for more information.

Interested? Check out our website: www.armywhitewater.asn.au for points of contact, or just phone me on (02) 9339 2758, or 0416 265 476, or e-mail blue.phillips@defence.gov.au.
