Ops WO awards on RAMSI

THE
Joint Operations Command Warrant Officer Medallion (JOCWO) was
awarded for the first time in the Solomon Islands to three women
serving in RAMSI The award was given to Sig Chelena Ash, 104 Sig
Sqn, Sig Charmaine Atkinson, 145 Sig Sqn and another member not
present Pte Kirsty Reason a terminal operator in the FET, by WOFF
Chris Dunne the Command WO Joint Operations Command and WO David
Baker who will be stepping into that position shortly.
The medallion is an award presented to people who haven’t been
recognized for their work previously but who are deemed superior
in their line of work by their peers.
WO Dunne said of the award “it represents our gratitude for the
significant work to the RAMSI mission these people have achieved
in their respective fields”.
In a time when the military are beginning their drawdown Sig Ash
said “it is an honour to know I worked well in co-ordination with
other agencies and in a time when the military presence is beginning
to reduce.”
The presenting of this award coincides with RAMSI’s one year anniversary
celebrations.
