Clearances downgraded

MORE than 6000 ADF and Defence civilian clearances have been downgraded to confidential.

Regular members totalling 886, and 1230 reserves have had their clearances downgraded as part of re-evaluation strategies initiated recently by the Defence Security Authority (DSA) in a bid to tighten up Defence.

DSA representatives admit that there will inevitably be cases where the organisation has been unable to contact personnel who will require their clearance levels to be restored and have asked that members who believe they may require revalidation should check with their Unit Security Officer.

  • Initial advice can be obtained by calling 1800 008 306 between 9.00am and 4.00pm.
