NAVY and Air Force soccer teams crumbled under intense pressure put on them by Army at the recent NSW Interservice Soccer Championships in Sydney.

Army took away the title in both women’s and the men’s competitions, with the women proving totally unstoppable during the three-day event.

Navy and Air Force played each other on first day of competition, with the Army women’s team the first soldiers to take the field on day-two of the competition.

The women’s game saw Army unleash a fastpaced game plan to outrun their opponents 4-2.

The Army men’s first game of the competition on day two put them up against Air Force for a hard-fought game.

The ability of Air Force players to capitalise on Army mistakes saw Air Force come out on top with a score of 3-1.

Day three and both Army teams hit the field again, this time facing the services they had missed on day-two.

In the women’s event, Army faced a hard working Air Force team as both sides went into the match with a championship title riding on the result.

Air Force put up a good fight but failed to score against a fast moving Army team, which carried the game to a 4-0 win for Army.

Going into the third day and the game against Navy, the Army men’s team had the odds against it after its bitter defeat at the hands of Air Force the day before. A determined Army team charged onto the field with all guns blazing, catching the overconfident Navy side unawares.

After a fast and furious game, the dust settled to reveal a staggering 6-0 win for Army. The goal average saw both the men’s and women’s teams for Army into first place for the competition.

In the women’s event Air Force took second place, while Navy in the men’s, having defeated Air Force 1-0 on the first day of competition, came in behind Army after their hiding on the final day.
