Army Thunder slams England in North Queensland showdown
ARMY Rugby League has been bolstered this month with the first ever test match played on Australian soil between the Australian and British Army Rugby League sides at the Townsville Sports Reserve. The Australian Army Thunder outclassed their touring British counterparts in a 28-14 win, drawing a crowd of about 500 spectators from both the barracks and surrounding suburbs.


Warming up on the Gold Coast
THE Gold Coast Airport Marathon Events were run and on Sunday, July 4, providing many ADF members with the perfect lead up to the ADF Marathon Championships, to be contested in Townsville on August 1.


Willing to sweat for a top charity
FOUR ADF members plan to put the concept of thinking globally and acting locally to effect, when they attempt to run 100km in 24 hours to raise money for charity.

Air Force Squashed
ALL three services were keen for a hit-out this month in the ACT Interservice squash tournament, with the last competition being contested way back in 2001.



Definitely the odd man out

WHOEVER nursed the statement to common cliche that it's a man's world obviously hasn't been the minority gender in women's professional netball, like Sydney illustrator Cpl Michael Kiker.
