More troops deploy to Iraq

SIX more ASLAVs and 32 more troops have deployed to Iraq to reinforce the SECDET and accommodate additional security tasks in Baghdad and outlying areas. Most of the 1 Bde soldiers left Darwin on July 14, doubling the cavalry arm of the SECDET and providing an additional infantry section.

Deeper down under
It is not often that Tasmania hosts a military exercise with visiting units from the mainland. So it was quite a spectacle for the locals when a squadron of APCs and support vehicles docked at Devonport aboard the Spirit of Tasmania.
