Purchasing card a must have item

New arrangements for buying office supplies and janitorial products in Defence means purchasers will need to use the Defence Purchasing Card from September.

Under the arrangements there are Standing Offers in place with Boise Office Solutions and Corporate Express for office requisites and Bunzl Ltd for janitorial products.

These standing offers replace all other existing arrangements between Defence and the suppliers and will be in place until February 2005, after which an agreement will be in place with a single supplier for these items.

Items available under the standing offers can be ordered by raising purchase orders on SDSS and ROMAN, or using the Purchasing Card by fax, phone, in person or through supplier internet ordering systems.

The new system, with new supplier account numbers comes into effect from September 1.

Information on setting up accounts with suppliers, along with application processes and forms, is available from http://intranet.defence.gov.au/dpc/ or the Telephone Support Line on (02) 6266 3613.
