ALTC raise cash for cystic fibrosis research

By Lt Sue Robinson
MEMBERS of Tpt Wing ALTC have driven themselves hard in a number of determined efforts to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis research.

During a two-day period recently, the truckies raised more than $1000 to help fight the deadly condition.

Members of LWDC also chipped in to chow down at one of two Bangers and Cash BBQ fundraisers.

A trivia night and a raffle were also organised by the enterprising truckies.

The fundraising was inspired by the plight of the daughter of two Puckapunyal soldiers.

Seven-year old Kathryn Davison, the daughter of Cpl Kevin Davison and Pte Penny Davison, has the life-threatening condition.

Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited genetic disorder that predominantly affects the lungs and digestive systems.

It is the most common life-threatening condition in Australia, with only 50 per cent of people with the condition surviving beyond 30 years of age.
