Surfing

The inaugural NSW interservice Surf Riding Carnival is planned for One Mile Beach, Port Stevens this month.

A program of events for short and longboarders is set for April 21 to 23.

All keen surfers interested in competing should contact Army Team Manager Cpl Dan Craig ??(02) 9600 2456.

Aussie Rules

The National Service Championships will be held at Manuka Oval in Canberra on April 16, 18 and 20.

The men's game on Sunday April 18, is the curtain raiser to the Sydney Swans/North Melbourne game that will be held at Manuka at 8.30am, not 9.30am, as previously advised.

The women's game, also on April 18, will now be held at ADFA at 11.30am, not at Ainslie at 10am, as previously advised.

The selected ADF men's team will play the curtain-raiser to Swans versus Melbourne Demons at Telstra Stadium April 24.

Tennis

THE 2004 Burrell/Carr Cup Tennis Knockout Competition will be held at White City Tennis Club, 30 Alma Street Paddington, NSW, on Monday April 19.

Team Managers will be briefed at 8.30am, first games commence at 9am.

Team nominations, transport and general enquiries should be directed to LS Corinne Williams via e-mail at connie.williams2@defence.gov.au.

Team nominations will be accepted until Friday, April 9.

Rugby Union

One of the most important Rugby competitions on the ADF sports calendar, the Mons Cup, will be played on April 7.

Teams from all three services are invited. The tournament will be staged on two fields at the Macquarie University Sports Complex, Macquarie Park, from 9am.

Tenpin Bowling

The NSW Interservice Tenpin Bowling competition will be held on May 7, at the Castle Hill Bowling Centre from 9am.

Lest We Forget Run

The Lest We Forget Run will be held on Sunday May 2 in 60 locations around the country.

The run, 8km (or 5 miles), is the distance our Anzac heroes were required to secure at Gallipoli.

Entry cost is $18 adult, $13 concession and $55 family (tax deductible).

Shooting

CANBERRA District Army Rifle Association invites all Steyr-qualified soldiers, sailors and airmen, regular or reserve, to develop their core skill in an atmosphere of friendly competition at the Duntroon WTSS facility on the first Thursday of every month (except January) starting at 6pm.

Next shoot - Thursday May 6.
