ADF Reservists in the Australian Public Service will be entitled to special leave under new workplace arrangements announced on December 2.

The arrangements apply to all Commonwealth departments and agencies.

They are a result of Government directives that new workplace agreements must now include leave policies and employment practices so reservists can be trained and deployed.

Releasing the new arrangements, Federal Employment and Workplace Relations Minister Kevin Andrews said there was a requirement to support reserves.

The Australian Government will work with State and Territory Governments and the private sector to develop policies for reservists in those areas.
