DURING his recent trip to the MEAO CDF, Gen Peter Cosgrove proudly pointed out that Australia continues to punch above its weight.

Gen Cosgrove travelled to the Middle East after attending Remembrance Day activities in London.

He visited all ADF elements in the AO and received extensive briefs on the security situation and how the various units conduct operations.

He also met with senior military officials to discuss Australia's ongoing contribution to coalition operations in the region.

Before departing he addressed troops at a rooftop barbeque and presented service medals to a number of personnel soon to complete their tours and return home.

In his closing remarks Gen Cosgrove said he would be spending Christmas visiting troops in the MEAO.
