has its own unit lanyard

THE Australian Federation Guard (AFG) now has its own unit lanyard
to wear with general duty and ceremonial dress.
The
lanyard came into effect in July 2003 in accordance with Army Standing
Orders Dress (ASODs).
Army
Division Executive officer Capt Dyan McrRae said it would distinguish
Army members within the AFG.
"The
AFG lanyard allows army to be a more cohesive division, as opposed
to the wearing of different corps lanyards," he said.
The
AFG lanyard is in Australia's national colours - green interwoven
with gold - and is worn on the left shoulder, as the AFG lanyard
is a unit lanyard, as opposed to a corps lanyard, which is worn
on the right.
The
lanyard was brought in as an identifying symbol of the AFG as there
is no corps embellishment worn by members posted to the guard.
