CA Lt-Gen Peter Leahy

CTC open for battle

By Cpl Belinda Mepham
The new state of the art home of Combat Training Centre (CTC), has been opened in Townsville last month.

CA Lt-Gen Peter Leahy and the Member for Herbert, MP Peter Lindsay officially opened the Battle Ridge building with special guest Land Commander Maj-Gen David Hurley and CABW members on parade.

CA Lt-Gen Peter Leahy said it was great to see CTC in their new home on Lavarack Barracks.

"The CTC is setting the ADF to win. They provide vital and realistic training for our deployable forces," he said.

Maj-Gen Hurley said CTC would be the best training centre in the ADF.

"Our aim is that CTC will be the place soldiers want to train others and be trained at," he said.

"The excellence of the professionals committed to the CTC and sense of effort from everybody involved will make them the crown jewels in the Army's training regime."
