Australian
Army Journal out soon
THE
next issue of the Australian Army Journal will be distributed in
early December and promises a diverse collection of articles and
reviews.
With
contributors ranging from CDF, Gen Peter Cosgrove and Special Operations
Commander Maj-Gen Duncan Lewis to soldiers as well as defence commentators
and analysts the journal promises something for everyone.
Readers
will share insights into Ops Falconer and Catalyst, discover the
world of Special Operations Command and unravel the complexities
of network-centric warfare.
Other
articles explore the murky world of terrorism, the chaos of urban
operations and present intriguing perspectives on information operations.
A comprehensive
book review section completes what many will find a fascinating
issue.
According
to Maj Catherine McCullagh from the Land Warfare Studies Centre
the Defence community has greeted the re-born Australian Army Journal
with enthusiasm after the first edition hit the streets last June.
"The
initial print run of 6 000 was distributed to members within Australia
and overseas and the Land Warfare Studies Centre's website recorded
a surge of hits as others downloaded the Journal," she said.
"Since
then we have received dozens of letters and e-mails commenting on
the diverse range of contents. Many of these will be published in
the forthcoming issue."
