ADF Sport Noticeboard

Lacrosse

DEFENCE members, male and female, who would like to, or have played lacrosse are required for an upcoming competition.

If you have played for a civilian club or the Defence Force (Army had a team in the 1990s) please contact Joshua Robinson to gauge the number of people interested in participating.

Running

HMAS Penguin's 25th Gate to Gate Fun Run and Power Walk will be held on Wednesday, November 26, beginning at 11am. Entry is $2 with all funds raised going to the Sir David Martin Foundation and Technical Aid to the Disabled (NSW).

The event is open to all ADF personnel and civilians, with the 5km course offering spectacular views of Sydney. For more details contact PO Brad Walsh or LS Ray Bell on (02) 9960 0274/275.

Squash

RAAF Base Williamtown will conduct a Hunter Region ISS Squash Tournament on February 13-14, 2004. The event comprises open and graded events and ISS matches. ADF and APS players of all levels are encouraged to attend.

The tournament is not aimed at elite players only.

ADF Squash is planning an overseas tour in 2004, probably to New Zealand in the first two weeks of August 2004.

Nominations and expressions of interest are sought from interested (registered) ADF Squash Racquets Association players and officials wishing to be part of the tour.

Nominations are to be submitted to the Air Force representative, Sgt Daryl Bessell on e-mail Daryl.Bessell@defence.gov.au for consideration by the selection panel.

Golf

ENTRIES for the 2003 ADF Golf Association National Championships to be held in Canberra from December 8-12, are filling fast.

AMP

CANBERRA District Army Rifle Association invites all Steyr-qualified soldiers, sailors and airmen, regular or reserve, to avail of a rare opportunity to shoot an Applied Marksmanship Practice and potentially qualify to wear the Crossed Rifles badge on their uniform.

Assemble at the range control carpark at Majura Range at 0830 on December 7.

Bring Steyr (if possible - some available), cams, webbing and $10 (to pay for prizes and brews).

Shooting

CANBERRA District Army Rifle Association invites all Steyr-qualified soldiers, sailors and airmen, regular or reserve, to develop their core skill in an atmosphere of friendly competition at the Duntroon WTSS facility on the first Thursday of every month (except January) starting at 6pm.

Next shoot - Thursday December 4.
