If you
come across these two movies in the video store, you'll get the
impression they are tacky, B-grade horror flicks. You'd be wrong,
however; these movies can only dream of being B-grade, as they are
little more than home videos.
Bloody
Murder aims to be a typical summer camp slasher movie that the blurb
on the back of the video will describe as "timeless",
but even if you like that sort of thing, you'll find this a tiring
addition to the genre, with its red-food-dye special effects and
a plot that feels as though it was made up along the way.
Unseen
is a different type of horror flick, trying to be something between
Alien and Indiana Jones, but, of course, it falls so far short of
the mark you'll wonder how I made the comparison.
This
one actually tries to use computer-generated special effects, but
as you would expect, the quality doesn't even measure up to The
Twilight Zone; they would have been better off using puppets.
I wouldn't
recommend wasting your money on these, as you could do a better
job with a group of mates, a handy-cam and a one-hour lunch break.
