Fd Regt in the field
PROVIDING
indirect fire-support to the highly-deployable light-infantry
units of 3 Bde is no easy task for 4 Fd Regt, which often
has to keep track of small groups of soldiers spread across
a large battle-front.
Padres
in place
GUIDANCE
provided by a unit chaplain can extend beyond religion and
away from the barracks, with padres deploying to the field
in support of the troops.
Traffic
under control
BEFORE,
during and after Croc 03, MPs established and maintained
Traffic Control Points (TCPs) throughout the Shoalwater
Bay Training Area.
Clear
and secure
ENGINEERS
deployed on Croc 03 performed a combined infantry/combat-engineer
role to clear and secure a Sea Point Of Disembarkation (SPOD).
Fighting
Brolgas secure foothold
THREE
Bde soldiers from 3RAR and 3CER recently worked to secure
a foothold on Legais during Ex Croc 03.

Mechanical
support for 3/4 Cav Regt
CAVALRY
units push their vehicles hard when deployed and need mechanical
support on constant standby to ensure they can stay in the
fight.

Moving
moments for JMCO
PLANNING
for an exercise as large as Croc 03 tends to focus closely
on the tactical deployment of thousands of soldiers and
items of equipment into the exercise area, but often neglects
the equally important issue of getting everybody home.
