SOLDIERS from around South Australia were in Adelaide recently to celebrate the Royal Australian Corps of Transport’s (RACT) 30th birthday.

On May 31, more than 60 personnel, both ARA and ARes, participated in a parade held at Keswick Barracks.

As part of the celebrations, the Corps banner, presented to the RACT in 1983 by Princess Alice, Colonel in Chief, was paraded, and former RACT members formed up on the side of the parade ground to observe a drum -head ceremony conducted by Army Chaplain Catie Inches-Ogden and supported by Adelaide University’s Pipes and Drums.

In the evening, a formal dinner at the Sergeants Mess at Keswick Barracks was held to conclude the birthday celebrations.
