News

The news search engine works by searching documents for all the words you specify. For example the query;

anzac frigate

would find all documents containing both anzac and frigate, regardless of whether or not the words are found side by side.

To locate a document that contains the phrase anzac frigate you would type:

"anzac frigate"

Phrases may also be mixed with other terms so that:

"anzac frigate" "collins class" news

Would find all documents containing the phrase anzac frigate AND the phrase collins class AND the word news

DO YOU need to refer to an article in Army, The Soldier's Newspaper but no longer have access to the hardcopy of the newspaper?

Army’s web site now has a search function that enables you to find articles from past editions.

Since September 2002, every news, feature and sport article as well as column, review and letter that was published in the paper version of Army, The Soldier's Newspaper, can be found on the electronic version of the paper and are fully searchable.

The search function, located on the home page, will locate any item that has been uploaded to the web page. Army’s electronic database goes back to 2001. However, before September 2002, only 10 key stories per issue were uploaded.

Advertisements from the hardcopy newspaper are not currently uploaded to the Internet.
