family that marches in step

MARCHING out of Kapooka usually turns into a family affair
never more so for father and son pair Ptes Mark and Nolan Ramage
who recently marched out together after 42 days of intense training.
Pte
Mark Ramage, 42, is a local Wagga Wagga resident who is married
with six children and will parade at 5CSSB as a medic.
His
son, Nolan, 18, has enlisted as an infantryman with 1/19RNSWR and,
after completing high school, plans to apply for RMC.
Nolans
father is no stranger to military service having served six years
in the Navy.
Currently
working as a fire fighter and at the local church, Mark joined the
Army Reserve with the intent of serving several years in RAAMC before
transferring to the ARA as a Chaplain.
He
hoped to return to ARTC to take up this role and said his experiences
in recruit training would enable him to better assist future recruits
undertaking the training themselves.
