7 Bde shows skills

SOLDIERS from 6RAR made a clean sweep of 7 Bde’s annual Military Skills Competition snaring all top three placings.

B Coy’s 2 Section led by Cpl Daniel Morgan took out first position followed C Coy’s 4 Section and a section from Pioneer platoon led by Cpls Tim Grover and Troy Daniels respectively.

Cpl Morgan said the boys were pretty happy.

“We thought it would be close within the sections from 6RAR but our section worked really well together, which I think was the main ingredient,” he said.

The section took out first place in five of the 15 activities and scooped the competition on day two winning the forced march, obstacle course and water crossing.

Commander 7 Bde Brig Richard Wilson said it was obviously an excellent effort by 6RAR but the commitment displayed by all teams was “very pleasing”.

“Across the board I was particularly impressed by the effort and level of teamwork,” he said.
