THE ADF Parachute Association (ADFPA) is calling for registration
of personnel interested in forming single-Service and combined-Service
teams for this years national championships.
The
2002 ADF Parachute Association (ADFPA) National Championship held
in November and December, was one of the most successful in the
associations history.
Over
130 military competitors from Australia and overseas competed in
the skies over RAAF Base Wagga in five disciplines.
Competition
was fierce but the ADF competitors were dominated by the international
teams who scooped the prize pool.
The
ADFPA is creating a register of personnel interested in forming
single Service and combined Service skydiving teams in order to
challenge the international teams in this years championship.
Teams
are required in four-way formation, swoop accuracy, classic accuracy
and four-way canopy rotations.
Members
are requested to register their team with the ADFPA as soon as possible
in order to meet the requirements of DI(G) PERS 14-2.
Those
jumpers not already in a team can register with the ADFPA who will
put them in contact with other military jumpers in their area. With
the current demands on time available, its never too early
to start training.
The
event is open to all ADF members, including reservists, who hold
a current APF B licence.
Military
qualified jumpers holding military free-fall qualifications are
also eligible to compete.
Personnel
with less than 50 jumps are strongly encouraged to continue training
in order obtain the minimum licence and nominate for the event.
The
event this year will be held between 1 12 December at RAAF
Base Wagga Wagga.
- To
register your interest in forming a team or to have your name
placed on the ADFPA e-mail list, contact the ADFPA President Capt
Neale McIver on (07) 3332 7742 or e-mail neale.mciver@defence.gov.au
