Carl Silber Jnr, son of Captain Carl H. Silber, prepares for
the trip, with pilot Lt Mick Whitney, 5 Avn Regt. The Army
provided a Black Hawk for the wreath laying ceremony. The
crash site is shrouded in thick jungle, which meant the wreath
was dropped from the Black Hawk as it flew overhead

the crash site of the Texas Terror on December
18, 2002, 60 years to the day the Liberator aircraft crashed

Riggs, United States Air Force, and 11 others.

Jim Cosgrove pauses in silence at the Remembrance Day service
held at the Robertson Barracks chapel, Darwin. The service
gave soldiers a chance to commemorate the many brave Australian
and Allied men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice in
the service of their country.
