AAC commanders impress the CA

By Julie Hope
CA Lt-Gen Peter Leahy has been impressed by the dedication of cadet commanders after attending the annual National Conference of the Australian Army Cadets (AAC), held recently in Canberra.

The conference, attended by regular and reserve personnel from throughout Australia, reviewed the AACs strategic and regional business plan with a focus on key policies and projects in line with the Government’s Cadet Enhancement Program.

“Army cadets are fundamental to the Army family and I am impressed by the dedication of the AAC command in improving overall cadet experience through relevant programs that provide a military-like experience,” he said.

This year cadets could look forward to the on going development of the Foster Unit Partnership Program between cadets and the Army that will ultimately enhance their military-like experience.

“I am proud to say that the Army cadets is one of the leading national youth development organisations in the country that not only provides opportunities for young people to experience exciting personal challenges but develops youth with a sense of purpose, responsibility and self-respect.”
