ORs opt to stay in the Army
Are people making the service their life work?

The Army separation rate continues to decline from a peak of 13.42 per cent in June 2001, to the December 2002 rate of 10.54 per cent.

The most significant reduction in separations has been from the OR trained force where 500 fewer trained ORs separated in 2002 as compared to 2001.

Identifying specific reasons for the improvement in the separation rate is difficult.

However, the introduction of the Stay Army website, which provides a wealth of information on how soldiers may pursue a new career path while continuing to serve in the Army, has been promising.
