ADF Sports Noticeboard

Bodybuilding

The 6th annual ADF Natural Bodybuilding and Figure Titles will be held at HMAS Cerberus on June 23, featuring divisions for all ADF permanent and Reserve personnel and Defence civilians. Golf

The Central Region Military Golf Championships will be conducted from July 13-15 at the Vines Golf Club, Reynella over 72 holes. Entry fee is $45, which includes all green fees and presentations. Entry form and details from Sgt Ian McDonald on (08) 8305 7017, or e-mail ian.mcdonald@defence.gov.au

Soccer

The Australian Combined Services Soccer Association is calling for nominations for coaches, managers and trainers for the ADF men’s and women’s teams.
These teams will be involved in the 2003 Corporate Games in Sydney from March 22-23, the Arafura Games in Darwin from May 17-24 and a women’s tour of Singapore in June. Nominations to Capt Brendan Smith at brendan.smith3@defence.gov.au must be endorsed through the single service soccer presidents.

Touch Football

The Canberra Defence Force Touch Association is calling for nominations for the 2003 competition commencing March 4 and running through to October, with games every Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes at Duntroon Ovals. Registration is $200 per team, with fees in by the fourth round.

Ultra Challenge

An ultra challenge event through the heartland of Tasmania will be held from March 8-10. Called the Cradle to Coast Ultra Challenge, the event, perhaps more so than any other in Australia, covers rough and isolated terrain that is subject to extremes of weather.
It must be stressed that it is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure they are adequately prepared in terms of fitness, skills and equipment for this unique journey. Further details can be found at www.tasultra.org
