A CFA and BFA every day?
No sweat

IF ANYONE thought completing seven CFAs and seven BFAs within the space of seven days was an impossible task, they should think again – this is the message from WO2 Jim ‘Bear’ Humphrey, who did just that in order to raise money for Legacy.

In unseasonably hot weather, WO2 Humphrey completed a CFA in the mornings and a BFA in the evenings under the watchful eye of 7 Bde’s PTIs.

The distinctive lime green shirt was seen for months as hundreds of kilometres were stomped while training around the Enoggera ring road.

The average time for the CFA’s was 2.35 hours, with the RDJ completed during each one. He completed the BFA run in an average of 10.48 minutes, with 100 sit-ups and 70 push-ups.

WO2 Humphrey said some of the inspiration to do something challenging in order to raise money for Legacy came from attending the Waterloo Dinner at 2CER earlier this year.

“I had the privilege to mix company with Engineer veterans who served in Korea and Vietnam, all of whom had sapper mates no longer with us,” he said.

“Legacy supports the survivors of these veterans and I saw it as a chance to give something back as a mark of respect and to say thank you.”

In order to raise money it is hoped that people will donate to Legacy by directing their donations to RSM 2CER WO1 Bob Dooley.
