2RAR to host Battle of the Hook 50th anniversary

2RAR will host celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Battle of The Hook at the battalion’s home in Lavarack Barracks, Townsville, in July next year.

The Hook was a heavily defended section of the UN frontline during the Korean War.

50th anniversary celebrations of The Battle of The Hook from July 24 to 27 2003, at Samichon Lines, Lavarack Barracks, Townsville.

The celebrations will include a re-enactment of the battle, an open day and a battalion dinner and ball.
