Cam cream for CanTeen kids

CADETS at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) recently gave a small group of young people from CanTeen an insight into military life.

Organised by OCdt Kat Reale under the command of Capt Andrew Grills, eight young people from CanTeen visited ADFA where they were introduced to camouflage cream and cam clothing.

They learned about the basic aspects of life in the military and had the opportunity to taste food in ration packs, as well as attempt ADFA’s climbing wall and boxercise class in the Indoor Sports Centre.

CanTeen is an Australian organisation designed to support, develop and empower young people living with cancer.

The event was designed to enable young people from CanTeen to build their confidence and offer them a fun and interesting experience with an edge, as well as to provide ADFA cadets with the opportunity to assist the Canberra community and develop the qualities required to be an effective leader by learning how to interact with people facing challenges outside of their experience.
