Commanders change for Op Slipper

 

Brig Maurie McNarn has taken over as as the Australian National Commander of the Australian contribution to the international coalition against terrorism.

Defence Minister Robert Hill announced recently Brig McNarn began his command on November 14, taking over from Brig Gary Bornholt after Brig Bornholt completed his tenure as commander and returned to Australia.

Brig Michael Paramor temporarily headed the Australian National Headquarters in the Middle East during the short period before Brig McNarn assumed command.

Brig McNarn’s previous posting was as Director-General Joint Operations and Plans at Strategic Operations Division.

He was also Commandant of RMC-Duntroon from 1999 to January this year.
