March in, march out, online

SOLDIERS will find their march in/march out administration streamlined this year thanks to a new online process introduced by Information Systems Division (ISD).

Peter Hacket, CSIG Base Services Manager at HMAS Kuttabul, said an icon shortcut to the Posting Web Wizard had been placed on most Defence Restricted Network desktops.

“Canberra DRN users or those who do not have the icon on their desktop will be able to get to it through the ISD Customer Support Centre website, which is located at http://drnsupport.defence.gov.au,” he said.

The Web Wizard allows the member to enter details of their losing and gaining locations and gives them a reference number to track the progress of the transfer of their account and data.

“It is important to note that the user’s e-mail data will not be moved but that their account will be deleted and then recreated at their gaining location.”

Users with more than 25Mb of data on their H: drive or those that require their e-mail transferred to their new posting must provide a CD-ROM to their local ISD staff before they leave their losing location.

  • For further information, call the Customer Service Centre on 133 272.
