Army
Journal out soon
Issue
2002 of the Army Journal is currently being printed. The theme of
the issue is Reflection through the Ages. It includes
articles discussing a number of events in Army history, discussions
of Defence policy and theory and an article by Col E.G. Keogh (Retd),
first editor of the Army Journal (1948 1965) on the origins
of the Journal itself.
Developing
Doctrine for Immediate Comment
The current edition of Peace Support Operations (LWD 3-8-3) was
published as Developing Doctrine to meet a doctrine requirement
to support the beginning of Australian military involvement in post-referendum
East Timor.
It
is being validated to incorporate the experience gained across all
such operations in the last few years. Therefore, information collected
by the Centre for Army Lessons is being examined, and other feedback
on the publication is being requested.
Developing
Doctrine Publications being brought to full endorsement are:
- LWD
3-8-3 Peace Support Operations; and
- LWD
3-8-5 Defence Force Aid to Civilian Authorities
Comments
on these publications is encouraged and should be directed to Lt-Col
R. Bradstreet, Doctrine Project Manager, c/RTC WA, or e-mail ralph.bradstreet@defence.gov.au
