Attendance
allowance changes
Rates
of attendance allowance and conditions relating to payment of attendance
allowance were amended with effect from September 27.
In
accordance with PACMAN Vol 2, Chap 11, Part 1, Clause 11.1.1, the
amendment changed the distance applicable to Zone 4 from 121-150km
inclusive to more than 120km.
The
last major amendment to attendance allowance occurred two years
ago.
This
amendment changed the distances and rates applicable to each zone.
Attendance
allowance is paid to assist a member of the reserves with travel
expenses when required to attend a specified place within Australia
to render reserve service.
The
allowance is paid based on the radial distance (as the crow flies)
from the members usual residence to the specified place of
parade.
All
members are required to advise their unit on march-in or on change
of usual residence of their new address details.
Unit
pay staff are to check the members entitlement to attendance
allowance and adjust their pay record accordingly.
The
change is to be processed with effect from the date of march-in
or change of address.
Unit
pay staff are required to review all unit members entitlements to
attendance allowance whenever a change (other than to the rate of
the allowance) occurs to ensure each member receives their correct
entitlement.
Changes
are to be processed from the date of effect of the change to the
determination, September 27.
A new
form for applying for attendance allowance is now available. This
form complies with PMKeyS and is to replace all other forms.
Forms
will be available on Webforms soon but are now available from your
local APAs or chain of command.
