Dig deep for a dollar

OCTOBER is Dig Deep month and the Defence Special Needs Support Group (DSNSG) is asking everyone to help Defence families by Digging Deep for a Dollar.

National Coordinator Margaret Fisk said nearly three out of every 20 Defence members with dependants had special needs or were coping with a disability of some sort.

“The aim of Dig Deep for a Dollar Day is to support the group that supports these families and we are asking Defence personnel to each donate one dollar during the month of October,” she said.

Mrs Fisk said all monies raised would go directly into family support projects and the group that found the most innovative way of Digging Deep would be presented with the annual Silver Spade Award.

Volunteers are urgently needed to assist the Defence Special Needs Support Group and anyone able to help should contact Dig Deep Coordinator Leonie Argent at palm4@optusnet.com.au or by phone on 08 8931 1658.
