Triathletes take on Noosa

By WO2 Greg Young
Wanted: Defence triathletes to compete in one of the world’s best sporting festivals, the Noosa Olympic Distance Triathlon.

Up to 3500 triathletes will take to the event as individuals or as team members for the 1.5km swim, 40km cycle and 10km run on November 3.

The field will consist of novice triathletes to the professionals, with the novices just happy to cross the finish line some three-and-a-half hours later, while the professionals will be looking towards the 2004 Olympic Games.

The Noosa Triathlon gives all members of the Defence Force an opportunity to compete with the best, either by forming a team with friends or trying the race as an individual.

The Australian Services Triathlon Association (ASTA), with the help of sponsor ADI Limited, will provide race singlets valued at $45 free to all members of the ADF competing in this race.

To register contact WO2 Greg Young on (02) 9600 4366 or by e-mail to greg.young2@defence.gov.au

The ADF team will assemble at 4pm on Saturday, November 2 in the registration area where uniforms will be distributed and members will be required to be in the team photo.

  • Team manager is Capt Peter Young who can be contacted on (07) 4691 7280.
