Web site for Puckapunyal

Puckapunyal now has a new web site and 20 brand new DHA homes as part of moves to promote the base to the wider Army.

Maj Chris Whitting, LWDC-Puckpunyal, said the Army experienced considerable difficulty in attracting personnel and their families to central Victoria.

“The new website and new DHA homes are a step towards improving the actual lifestyle and the perceptions of personnel across the wider Army posted to this location,” he said.

“The development of www.puckaonline.com is a major step towards communicating the often unheralded advantages of a posting to Puckapunyal.”

The aim of the website, pictured right, is to help families posted to Puckapunyal by giving them direct access to education, housing, employment, health and a variety of other facilities on base and across the region as soon as they receive their posting order.

“Puckaonline also provides information and links to tourism, entertainment, fitness, Defence and community sites, as well as providing children and teenagers with their own sites.

“The website is a joint initiative involving LWDC, DCO and the Action Plan for People Team.”
