THE Military Workshop, based in Brisbane, is donating 15 print copies of Our Duties Done, by artist Ian Coate, as fundraisers to military organisations and associations.

As a promotion, in conjunction with Army, the prints include five
Victoria Cross editions signed by VC winners Keith Payne and Ted Kenna and 10 artists’ editions.

To receive one of the 15 prints, eligible military groups need to write a submission of 30 words, outlining what fundraising activity they plan to conduct and what the proceeds will go towards.

Our Duties Done, pictured, is a painting set in the Australian War Memorial in Canberra and features the ghostly images of sailors, airmen, soldiers and nurses from various campaigns including the Boer War, WW1, WW2, the Korean War, Malaya, Borneo and the Vietnam War.

The VC-signed editions, of which there are only 500, are valued at $250, while the artist editions are $125 each. Each print is 640 x 540mm.

Brett Williams, owner of The Military Workshop, said he was happy to be of assistance to worthwhile military-related causes.

“We donated copies of Dustoff, a Vietnam cas-evac scene featuring a 9 Sqn RAAF helicopter, and over $45,000 was raised,” he said.

Send your submission, entitled Our Duties Done Fundraiser, to The Editor, Army Newspaper, R8-LG-037, Russell Offices, Canberra, ACT, 2600 or by fax to (02) 6265 6690 or by e-mail to armynews@defencenews.gov.au before October 2.

Winners will be announced in Army on October 10.
