Obituary - Brig Alf Garland
FORMER National President of the RSL Brig Alf Garland died in Canberra on March 9 after a long illness. A graduate of the 1953 Duntroon Class, Brig Garland's military career enjoyed the twin distinctions of having commanded the first Australian SAS troops deployed on operational service and was later the first commanding officer of the expanded SAS Regiment.
