| HELPING OUT: Albany tows Adagio to safety. |
|
RAN Armidale class patrol boat HMAS Albany has continued its excellent work in northern waters by rescuing a stricken yacht.
On the evening of June 19, 2007, Albany diverted from an Operation Resolute patrol north-west of Darwin to rescue the yacht Adagio and its crew. Albany was on a routine patrol when it received a distress call from the Adagio. The yacht’s steering was inoperable and assistance was requested.
Albany, within 30 minutes of the inoperable yacht, immediately responded to the call to assist.
Upon arrival, the Albany transferred the Adagio’s crew to the patrol boat and took the yacht under tow back to Darwin Harbour. |
